Mr. Scott matriculated from Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree in construction engineering, and later attended the University of Dayton in Ohio where he completed a Master's of Business Administration. He has over 40 years of experience in retail and residential development. As a licensed contractor, he has developed more than 200 single and multifamily developments in eighteen states that comprise more than 20,000 units and over 16,000 multifamily units. He has also developed in excess of 1,500 mixed use and single family subdivisions.
In 1973, Mr. Scott joined Wallick Construction Company in Columbus, Ohio as Vice President of Development. During his thirteen year tenure he was involved in construction and development operations for multifamily and senior housing. His contributions played a key role in various projects involving condominiums, apartments, nursing homes, congregate housing and single-family housing. Prior to co-founding The NRP Group, LLC (NRP) in September 1995 Mr. Scott was President of Zaremba Development Company for seven years, where he was involved in developing more than 3,500 apartments and 4 million square feet of retail properties. As cofounder and Principal of NRP, Mr. Scott’s primary responsibilities included retail property development, single- and multi-family home development, and new product management. He also served on the NRP Investment Committee, which reviews and approves all new business.
Mr. Scott has demonstrated significant industry involvement over his career. He is a long standing member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), where he twice served as Chair for their Seniors Housing Council (1986, 1995), held a seat on the Executive Committee (1995 – 97), and led their Federal Government Affairs & Resolutions Committee as a Senior Life Director.
In addition to industry involvement Mr. Scott is also active in his community. He is an Ambassador of the United States Jaycees, a Lab Coat Society Member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and a former board member for Habitat for Humanity.
